Fisher housing is limited and assigned by availability
Fisher does not require students to live on campus. Residence housing is limited and assignments are based on availability and the timing of the student’s housing deposit.
For Fall 2026, Fisher identified May 1 as the priority deposit deadline for guaranteed residence-hall consideration. Students applying later should verify current availability directly with the Housing Office.
Fall room assignments are generally made during July and August.

Includes Robert Smith Hall at 106 Beacon Street, a five-floor coeducational residence with shared refrigerator, sink and nearby laundry access.
102 Beacon Street
Sarah Mortimer Hall is a seven-floor residence and is Fisher’s only residence hall currently identified as having elevator access.
Brownstone reality
Ask about stairs before bringing heavy belongings
Most Fisher residences are historic buildings rather than purpose-built modern dorm towers.
Sarah Mortimer Hall at 102 Beacon Street is the only residence Fisher specifically identifies as having elevator access. Students assigned elsewhere should plan for stairs and avoid overpacking heavy or bulky products.
Use smaller boxes when possible and keep valuable electronics, medications and first-night essentials separate from general luggage.

No Halogen Lamps
Halogen lamps, lava lamps, black lights and certain high-heat lighting are prohibited.
No Additional Furniture
Personal furniture is listed among items students should not bring into campus housing.
Televisions and walls
Do not permanently alter a Fisher dorm room
Students should not drill, mount televisions, install permanent shelving or make structural changes in a Fisher residence unless current written Housing rules specifically authorize the work.
A tabletop television stand or other freestanding solution is safer for residence-hall living.
