Back Bay combines historic brownstones, apartment buildings, condominiums, major shopping streets and excellent access to central Boston.
Students can live within walking or transit distance of several colleges while also being close to Newbury Street, Boylston Street, Copley Square, the Charles River Esplanade and Fenway.
The tradeoff is that moving can be more complicated than the short distance suggests. Historic buildings, limited curb space, narrow stairways and building-specific move rules require advance planning.

Back Bay may not have the same concentration of student rentals as Allston or Mission Hill, but September 1 still brings significant apartment turnover throughout central Boston.
