What makes Berklee move-in different?
Berklee’s Boston campus is concentrated around Massachusetts Avenue, Boylston Street, Hemenway Street, Back Bay and the Fenway area. Residence halls, classrooms, practice rooms, performance spaces and city streets are closely connected.
Students may arrive with instruments, amplifiers, recording equipment, computers and other valuable gear in addition to normal clothing and dorm supplies. Label, protect and inventory important equipment before traveling.

Entering and continuing students move in on separate dates. Confirmed residents receive a specific arrival time through their Berklee email.

Is Berklee housing guaranteed?
Fall-entering first-year students are guaranteed on-campus housing when they pay the tuition deposit and complete the Housing License Agreement by May 5. Applications submitted after the deadline are considered according to availability.
Continuing students are not guaranteed housing and generally participate in Berklee’s housing-selection or lottery process. Students without a confirmed assignment should search for off-campus options early.

12 Hemenway Street
Offers singles, doubles, triples and quads, community and some private bathrooms, floor lounges and a community kitchen.
98 Hemenway Street
Includes multiple room types, community and some private bathrooms, a community kitchen, lounge space and practice rooms.
150 Massachusetts Avenue
A larger residence with private bathrooms in rooms, practice rooms and a central location near Berklee academic buildings.
160 Massachusetts Avenue
Includes residential floors, lounges, rehearsal spaces, practice rooms and fitness facilities for eligible campus residents.
Fenway Residence Halls
Historic brownstone residences primarily used by entering Boston Conservatory at Berklee students.
Residential Community
Berklee residences may include security, laundry, lounges, kitchens, practice rooms and other building-specific amenities.

How Berklee move-in works
Find the assigned move-in block
Review the Berklee housing email for the residence hall, date, arrival time and any building-specific instructions.
Go directly to the residence hall
Students report to their assigned residence to check in and collect the room key.
Unload before parking
Berklee provides temporary unloading areas but does not provide general street parking for move-in day.
Move the vehicle to a garage
After unloading, the vehicle must be moved to a public parking garage or another lawful parking location.

Berklee’s campus is in a dense urban area. Residence-hall unloading spaces are intended for moving belongings, not for extended parking.
Protect instruments and equipment
Keep instruments, laptops, audio equipment and valuables attended. Do not leave visible equipment in an unattended vehicle after unloading.

Send packages to Berklee’s Mail Center
New residents may ship packages to Berklee’s Mail Center no more than seven days before the advertised move-in date. Packages sent directly to residence halls may be returned to the sender.
Use the student’s name followed by “Berklee Resident” and the Mail Center address at 1108 Boylston Street, Boston, Massachusetts 02215. Verify the current instructions before shipping valuable equipment.

Residence rules
Check restricted items before packing
Berklee prohibits or restricts various fire, electrical and safety hazards. Examples include space heaters, halogen lamps, traditional coffee makers, nonapproved furniture, weapons, wireless hubs and various heating or cooking products.
Pod-style systems such as Keurig or Nespresso machines may be treated differently from traditional coffee makers, but students should confirm the current policy before bringing one.

Do not permanently mount equipment in a Berklee dorm
Students should not drill, install permanent acoustic panels, mount televisions, attach shelves or alter Berklee furniture unless current written housing rules specifically permit the work.
Musicians should use approved freestanding stands, compact storage, headphone practice solutions and other reversible arrangements that do not damage walls, floors or furniture.

Berklee’s off-campus portal provides rental listings, nearby housing searches, roommate profiles and scam-awareness information.
Students should independently verify the landlord or agent, inspect the apartment, review the written lease and confirm rent, fees, deposits, utilities and move-in conditions.

Your apartment lease may begin after orientation
Many Greater Boston leases begin on September 1, while Berklee’s new student arrival and orientation begin in August. Off-campus students may need a hotel, short-term lodging, baggage storage or another temporary plan between orientation and the lease start date.

When is Berklee move-in for Fall 2026?
Berklee residence halls open for entering students on Saturday, August 22, 2026, and for continuing students on Sunday, August 23, 2026.
Do Berklee students receive an assigned move-in time?
Yes. Confirmed residents receive an assigned move-in time block approximately one month before arrival. Students may arrive during or after the assigned block, but not earlier.
Is on-campus housing guaranteed for Berklee students?
